Mary Beth West ’84 has received the Nazareth College School of Management (SOM) Distinguished Alumni Award for 2013. West was chosen based on her business success, service to others, commitment to ethics and social responsibility, and her unwavering support of Nazareth College. The award was presented by John Drain ’83, the 2012 award recipient, at the SOM business and economics honor society induction ceremony earlier this year.
West is currently the executive vice president and chief category and marketing officer of Mondelez International, Inc., formerly Kraft Foods, Inc. Responsible for consumer insights and strategy, integrated marketing communications, consumer services, sustainability, and corporate and government affairs, she also leads the company’s global category teams for brands such as Triscuit, Dentyne, and Toblerone.
In addition, West serves on the board of directors for J.C. Penney Co., Inc. and is a member of the executive leadership council. She has been recognized for her achievements by the Minority MBA’s Next Generation of Business Leaders. After receiving her bachelor’s in management from Nazareth College, West earned an M.B.A. from Columbia University.
