John Green

Biography

John Green is a PhD Musicology candidate at the Eastman School of Music. He is completing a dissertation that focuses on composer John Cage on radio and television and his research has been supported by University of Rochester's Raymond N. Ball Dissertation Fellowship and Northwestern University's John Cage Research Grant. Green has presented recently at the Music and Moving Image Conference, nief-norf Festival, and Society for American Music Annual Meeting. In addition to his scholarship, he has also been engaged in learning, performing, and teaching Zimbabwean music since 2011 and has given performances and workshops at Hamilton College, Syracuse University, and other area schools and colleges. Green joins the Music Theory and History Department to instruct courses in World Music.
