Course Description:

Supervision is a critical role for the student, and often leaves a lasting impact on their future social work practice. This workshop will share different supervision approaches for meeting the needs of supervisor, setting, and the intern. It can be difficult to balance day to day tasks, learning opportunities, and professional development, but achieving this is essential for preparing the intern for practice. Examples will be discussed, and strategies for engagement and development
of the intern will be shared.

This workshop is designed for current practitioners and supervisors.

Objectives: At the end of this course, participants will be able to…

  • Identify 2-3 supervision approaches.
  • Identify their own professional strengths and needs, as well as potential limitations of the practice setting, as it relates to supervision.
  • Engage in problem solving by sharing examples of situations when the supervisor and intern need to be flexible.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

Written cancellation must be received via email by September 4, 2026 for the full refund of the workshop fee. Please send an email to Laurie Peterson (lpeters7@naz.edu) if you need to cancel.
