Create an FSA ID at studentaid.gov. A separate FSA ID is required for a student and parent (of dependent students). Keep your FSA ID, as you will need it to file a renewal FAFSA each year, sign federal loan applications, and access your student aid history online.

It is highly recommended that you authorize income verification through the IRS Data Retrieval process on the FAFSA in order to avoid being selected for federal income verification later in the process.
