Stay Informed
How to stay informed about the changes and receive up-to-date notifications and information:
- Did you fill out a FAFSA form for 2023-24? Log in to your studentaid.gov account and be sure your current email address is on file. Once the exact FAFSA launch date is announced, an email will be sent to students (and parents of dependent students) who applied on the 2023-24 form reminding you to apply for 2024-25.
- Didn't submit for 2023-24? Make sure to create an account on studentaid.gov — and save your username and password so you can access and submit the 2024-25 FAFSA form when available.
- Follow Federal Student Aid on social media for announcements and resources: Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube
Application Guidelines
- Never leave spaces blank. Answer every required question, even if the answer is "0".
- Carefully read and follow all instructions. Respond quickly to all requests from the Financial Aid Office. Remember: Even if your application is received by the priority date, you will not receive a financial offer if there are required outstanding documents.
- Complete all forms using your full given name. Don't use nicknames. Notify the Financial Aid Office and Registration & Records Office of any name change. The Social Security Administration should also be informed of any name changes.
- Double-check your Social Security number.
- Save copies of all forms and correspondence you submit, noting the dates they were sent. This way, you can refer to specifics when calling or writing about your application. Always keep copies of your tax return transcripts and W-2s.
