Auditions/Portfolio Required

Auditions are required for musical theatre and theatre arts applicants. Other majors can audition to be considered for scholarships. Theatre design and technology applicants are required to have a portfolio review.

In summer 2019, Nazareth musical theatre students are working as performers, assistant producers/directors, tech crew, interns, sound technician, carpenter, and more at professional theaters such as:

  • Flannel and Hammer in Philadelphia
  • Woodstock Playhouse in Woodstock, NY
  • Blackfriars Theatre in Rochester, NY

  • Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY
  • Cortland Repertory Theatre in Cortland, NY

      You can apply to complete your senior year with a semester at the Tepper program in New York City.

      Clubs and Organizations

      Theatre and performing arts clubs and organizations are open to majors and non-majors. Clubs include Dare2Dance, the Nazareth Dance Organization, and Theatre League.

          Senior Showcase

          The Theatre and Dance Department Senior Showcase enables senior musical theatre majors to present performance skills to industry professionals, agents, and casting directors in New York City. This  opportunity for callbacks, auditions, and representation launches careers in stage/television/film, and helps make the Theatre and Dance program at Nazareth College a rival to many nationally acclaimed programs.
