New Students

Move In Fall 2021

Fall 2021

Key things to do

  • New students move in on August 26 over the course of two move-in time blocks;  7:30am-10:30 am and 10:30am-1:30pm.
  • You may have parents, family members, or friends help you move into the residence halls. While most COVID restrictions are no longer in place, we encourage you to consider carefully how many people you bring to campus to help you move in, to help with traffic and congestion in the residence halls.
  • Review the list of what to pack and what’s prohibited: What to Bring
  • To reduce lines at Nazareth’s Central Mail Services at the start of the semester, please consider bringing most items with you instead of having them shipped ahead of time to campus, if possible.
  • Review the move-in process details below.

Move-in Process

Before you come

  • To move in, you must have uploaded your proof of vaccination to the student health portal. More information: COVID-19 Vaccine requirement
  • Connect with your roommates to plan out who is bringing what.
  • Check your Nazareth email for your Move-In Time Slot. If you are no longer able to arrive at that time, please contact to request a new time.

Where to go

  • Entrance: Enter Campus by coming in the entrance at South Flyer Drive.  Campus Operations, Campus Safety, and Orientation staff (OLs) will be in place to direct cars to their specific unloading zones.
  • Getting checked in: When you arrive on campus, you should go directly to your assigned residence hall. Residential Life staff will be waiting to greet you and give you your room key. Resident Assistants (RAs) will also be available inside the hall over the weekend to answer questions, provide guidance, and assist with any facilities issues.

  • Moving in: A move-in crew of Orientation Leaders and Student-Athletes will be available to help move in your belongings. Please consider labeling your items with your last name and room number.
  • O'Connor 2 will have a designated traffic flow because of the narrow hallways.  Follow the posted signs to help you navigate as you move in.  We will be monitoring hallways in Kearney and Lourdes to avoid congestion. If a particular hallway or stairwell starts to become too crowded, we may ask you to wait outside with your belongings until we can clear the congestion and allow you to safely enter the building and resume bringing things in.
  • Parking: Once you are done unloading your car, please move it to a designated parking area. For you and your helper's convenience, there will be a shuttle running from P Lot to the residence halls throughout the move-in time blocks.

Student ID Pick-Up

  • Before Move-In: If you requested your ID and/or registered for your permit and security escort by July 15, these items will be sent out in early August. If you have requested these items after August 1, your requested items will be given to Residential Life to distribute at check-in on August 26.
  • Day of Move-in: If you were unable to request these items in advance, you will be directed to a designated tent where Orientation Leader staff will assist you with taking your picture, filling out required forms, and sending a message to Campus Safety.

  • Fire spraying: Bringing a wall hanging or curtains to campus? We will have fire spray locations around campus during Move-In weekend. For students moving in on August 26th, the Fire Spray station will be located near the Kearney Courtyard.
  • Hand Sanitizing Stations: These will be available throughout campus but we will also have extra supplies at the check-in tables
