From September 1 through October 13, each working group will take a deeper look at its assigned LMS. Members will participate in a virtual demonstration with the vendor, receive access to a sandbox course for hands-on exploration, and complete a structured review of common teaching, learning, and course-management tasks. Each group will then prepare a summary of its findings, including strengths, limitations, and overall fit for Nazareth.

The working groups will present their findings to the full Task Force in mid-October. Following those presentations, the Task Force will complete a feedback survey to help identify the two LMS options that will move forward for broader campus review.

The current target windows for those campus-wide vendor visits are the weeks of October 26, November 2, or November 9. Final dates, times, and session details will depend on vendor availability and will be shared once confirmed. These campus visits will provide additional opportunities for faculty, staff, and students to see the finalist platforms, ask questions, and provide feedback.

Have questions about the LMS evaluation process? Please feel free to reach out to Task Force Co-Chairs Susan Sturm or Stacy Slocum for more information.

May 2026 Update:

LMS Evaluation Study Kicking Off

Nazareth is beginning a university-wide evaluation of its learning management system, informed by survey feedback gathered this spring from faculty, staff, and students. This process is intended to help the university thoughtfully assess its current and future LMS needs through a shared review that includes representation and input from across campus. Any future direction will be informed by the experiences, priorities, and needs of the full university community.

A task force of more than 25 faculty, staff, students, and campus leaders is currently being formed to lead the evaluation process. The primary work of evaluation and selection will take place during the Fall 2026 semester, with many opportunities for broader campus participation through demonstrations, forums, and other feedback opportunities. Full implementation of any selected LMS will not occur until Fall 2028.

The co-chairs of the LMS Evaluation Task Force are Susan Sturm (Director of the Center for Professional Learning, Innovation, & Creativity) and Stacy Slocum (Chief Information Officer). Questions about this work may be directed to either of them.

Coming Soon!

Nazareth faculty, staff, and students will have the opportunity to engage deeply with the two finalist LMS options during the campus visits to take place in late October and early November. Stay tuned for details, ways to get involved, and options for reviewing materials if you are unable to join live.
