Elizabeth Henderson

Biography

Elizabeth is an active performer and educator in the Greater Rochester Area. She has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Rochester Philharmonic, Phoenix Symphony, Symphony San Jose, and the Finger Lakes Opera. Notable conductors she has performed under include Michael Tilson Thomas, Carl St. Clair, Andreas Delfs, Carl Topilow, Tito Munoz, and Edwin Outwater.

As an educator, Elizabeth has worked in the public school system as a teacher, coach, and clinician and has maintained a private studio of 30+ students for many years. Equally as passionate about reed-making as performing and teaching, she maintains a thriving oboe and English horn reed business and teaches the art of reed-making to students across the United States.

A native of Fairport, NY, Elizabeth received her Bachelor of Music from Ithaca College and Master of Music from Arizona State University. Her primary teachers are Martin Schuring and Paige Morgan with additional studies with Eugene Izotov, Mingjia Liu, and Laura Griffiths.
