Eugene Bisdikian has been performing on both upright and electric bass in a wide variety of genres since 2006. He graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance and a minor in Audio & Music engineering in 2017, and with a Master’s degree in Music Education in 2020. He frequently performs in the Rochester-Finger Lakes area; his performance experience also includes tours to Montreal and various cities in the eastern United States, and numerous musical theater productions.
Since 2012, Eugene has worked as a music instructor in both private and classroom settings, and is currently the Jazz and Electric Bass instructor at the Eastman Community Music School. He teaches bass lessons to students of all ages, and has worked with students expressing interest in studying a wide variety of genres, ranging from jazz and classical to rock, funk, and other contemporary styles. Eugene taught at Lagond Music School’s summer program in Elmsford, NY from 2013-2019. While there, he taught ensembles, rhythm, improvisation, theory, and private lessons to both middle and high school students seeking a deeper musical education, many of whom were aiming to pursue degrees in jazz performance, contemporary performance, music production, or songwriting.
Eugene teaches upright and electric bass at Nazareth University, with a focus on jazz and contemporary styles.
