Lisa Marie Schmitz holds a Bachelor's Degree in vocal performance from Fredonia State University, a Post-Baccalaureate Degree and Master’s Degree in music education from Nazareth College, and Orff Level I certification from the Eastman School of Music.
Lisa currently teaches vocal / general music at the Genesee Community Charter School. She began teaching music as a substitute in the Rochester, Greece and Rush-Henrietta school districts. She spent two years teaching vocal/general music in the Spencerport Central School District and was the founding music teacher for the Discovery Charter School of Rochester. In addition to her work in the public schools, she served as soprano soloist, early service choir director and children’s choir director at the First Unitarian Church of Rochester. Other positions include music instructor for the Art Smart summer program offered by the City of Rochester, music specialist for the Horizons summer program at Nazareth College, and music director for the STAGE drama club at Spencerport Central High School.
