Adolescence can be a stressful time involving big transitions and new social pressures. It is common for many adolescents to experience a variety of anxiety symptoms as a result.

At the Youth Anxiety Center, we strive to create a safe, holistic and inclusive therapeutic environment that supports youth who are experiencing mental health challenges related to anxiety.

Potential clients

Serves ages 11 to 17.

Using evidence-based therapeutic methods, the Youth Anxiety Center offers group counseling to help improve the wellbeing of adolescents experiencing anxiety. This includes psychoeducation for youth and their caregivers. Services will be provided by graduate clinicians who are supervised by NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Meena Lall. Youth who are experiencing challenges related to anxiety are a good fit for this program.

Session schedule

The center offers group counseling along with individual sessions as needed. The Youth Anxiety Center will be offering two different group sessions which include a Student Athletes Stress and Anxiety Group and a Generalized Anxiety Group for youth who want a more general focus on managing social anxiety. Each group is 1 hour and 30 minutes weekly during Nazareth's fall and spring semesters.

Please note that consistent attendance is essential therefore the Youth Anxiety Center is looking for committed clients who are able to attend each group session.

Student clinicians

Services are provided by students in the Master of Social Work (MSW) program.

Student clinicians are supervised by social work faculty and staff licensed by the New York State Office of the Professions.

Resources for parents

For parents: The center provides resources to help families further support their  child who is experiencing anxiety.
