Lindsey Kelly ’16, center on the Nazareth College women’s basketball team, was the Golden Flyers’ representative on the Empire 8 Conference all-star team. Kelly was named to the second team for the second year in a row through voting conducted by the league’s head coaches.
Kelly, of Doylestown, Pa. and a graduate of Central Bucks East High School, led the Golden Flyers in scoring (13.6 ppg.) and rebounding (7.3 rpg.) in 2013-14. She also shot 50.4 percent (116-for-230) from the field and 79.2 percent (80-for-101) from the free-throw line.
Through two seasons, Kelly has averaged 14.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game and has scored 713 points. In addition to Kelly, guard Veronica Peck ’16 was Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportswoman of the Year. Empire 8 emphasizes that “competing with honor and integrity” is an essential component of a student-athlete’s experience in conjunction with an institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
