Nazareth College, in conjunction with the Monroe County Sports Commission, has been chosen to host the NCAA Division III men’s volleyball championship at the Kidera Gymnasium in 2016. The exact dates are April 22-24, 2016.
It will mark the third time in a six-year stretch that Nazareth will be the host site for the national volleyball championship tournament. Nazareth hosted the Molten national championship tournament in 2011 and won the title. The Golden Flyers also hosted the NCAA Championships in 2013 and lost to Springfield in the championship match. The first time the NCAA sponsored a national championship tournament for Division III men’s volleyball was in 2012.
“We are thrilled that we’ve been chosen to host this great event,” says Nazareth Athletic Director Pete Bothner. “With the help of the Monroe County Sports Commission, we believe we can put together a first-class event.”
