Casa Italiana Book Club 

Casa Italiana hosts this book club that meets once a month to discuss Italian books. The Club is open to anyone and its purpose is to offer the possibility to practice the Italian language and/or learn about Italy and its culture. The group suggests the books, usually by contemporary Italian authors, that reflect the changes that have taken place with time in the language and customs. The discussion is informal.

Participation is free. 

When: First Saturday of each month at 11:30 am

Location: Casa Italiana LeChase Lounge

The Italian Film Series and the Frank DiMino Casa Italiana are proud to bring  contemporary Italian films to the Rochester area. 

Films will be screened at the Peace Theater (Room A14), located at the lower level of the Nazareth Arts Center. There is also ample free parking in close proximity to the theater.

The film screening will be followed by a dinner at the Frank DiMino Casa Italiana, located in front of the Arts Center.

Free for Nazareth students, faculty and staff. New ticket price for Casa Italiana members: $7.50

Fall semester movie calendar: 

  • Saturday, September 14 at 4 PM. Movie: Comandante, a film by Edoardo de Angelis. Purchase your tickets here.

  • Saturday, November 16 at 4PM. Campus Screening of Cabrini (2024) by A. Gómez Monteverde. The film will be screened in the Otto A. Shults Community Center, 4245 East Ave, Rochester, NY 14618, USA. Open to Naz faculty, staff, and students. Co-sponsored by the Center for Spirituality, the Weider Community Engagement, FDM Casa Italiana, and the Public Health Department. 

  • Saturday, December 7th at 4PM. Screening of Il punto di rugiada (The Dew Point), Directed by Marco Risi. Purchase your tickets here. This film will be screened in A14 as usual, with dinner following the movie provided at Casa Italiana.

*Tickets can also be purchased at the door at a slightly increased price.*

Italian Conversation Table 

The Italian Conversation Table is an informal conversation group led by Daniel Speciale and other members of Frank DiMino Casa Italiana. Its goal is to provide attendees with an opportunity to practice Italian in a casual setting. 

When? Every Thursday at 5 pm. Where? Casa Italiana Le Chase Lounge.
