There are two types of events that you can participate in to receive stamps: asynchronous and synchronous.
See the full passive and active Virtual Passport Project Opportunities list.
ASYNCHRONOUS EVENTS
Asynchronous events indicate that your attendance for the event's entirety equates to participation. Asynchronous events tend to be more short-term, one-and-done types of experiences.
3 asynchronous events = 1 stamp (*a maximum of 2 stamps, out of the 7 total, are permitted from the asynchronous category)
Examples of Asynchronous Events:
- Virtual Tours
- TED Talk
- Cooking Show (learn how to make global dishes!)
SYNCHRONOUS EVENTS
Essentially, synchronous events indicate that attendance alone is insufficient, and the event requires active participation and preparation that may require a short-term or more longitudinal commitment. Synchronous events count for one stamp per experience.
Examples of Synchronous Events:
- Participatory Panel/Webinar
- Internship
- Academic Course
- Volunteering (Day of Service, local community engagement, etc.)
- Participation in Local, National, Worldwide cause/initiative
Asynchronous and synchronous events will be presented throughout the year; you may participate in them as opportunities arise. Continue to check in with @globalflyers, global@naz.edu, this Virtual Passport Project webpage, and College/community-wide announcements!
