Diversity and Belonging
Nazareth College embraces a society that is both diverse and inclusive, and values both respect for the person and freedom of speech. Among the offices on campus that support this work:
- Culture, Community, and Belonging supports work to help students, faculty, and staff respect all forms of diversity, practice inclusivity, and advocate for social justice.
- Atlas Diversity Resource Center offers a safe place for LGBTQ+ students and provides resources to all community members to educate and better understand diverse sexual and gender identities.
- Center for Spirituality supports spiritual growth, dialogue, and service.
- First Generation Student Initiatives supports students who don't have a parent/guardian who earned a bachelor's degree.
- HEOP/Young Scholars programs support students, including economically disadvantaged students and high-achieving underrepresented students.
- Office for Diversity & Inclusive Excellence Education provides opportunities to cultivate and sustain a community of belonging.
- Residential Life staff help students adjust to living on campus and connect with others.
- Student Accessibility Services provides interpreters, scribes, and testing accommodations.
- Military & Veteran Services’ coordinator and academic counselor provides support, and the Military & Veteran Suite is a dedicated lounge space.
- Women and Gender Studies Department provides a broad-based community for interdisciplinary scholarship and inquiry focusing on women, gender, and sexualities.
