Financial Support for Undergrad Students

Emergency Fund
  • Amount a student can request: Up to $500
  • Supports emergency needs for students (generally rent, food, transportation, course software licenses, etc.)

Undergraduate Association/Student Engagement
  • Amount a student can request: Varies, based on the request. Maximum of $1,000 per academic year.
  • Supports attendance at a conference that meets the following criteria:
    • official registration (not necessarily with a cost)
    • networking opportunities between professionals and students
    • learning/educational component (could include presenting)
    • connection to student’s professional pathways/goals

    • For any activity, event, or trip that is not part of a course and that students are not required to attend; must be open to all undergraduate students: Senate Proposal

Transportation Grant
  • Amount a student can request: Up to $750
  • For transportation costs of an unpaid internship, clinical, practicum, etc. This may include public transportation and/or taxi costs. Applicants also can request consideration for additional institutionally-supported shuttle transportation (subject to experience schedule and driver availability). Preference will be given to students without access to personal transportation. Students must be considered medium to high need (determined by financial aid status).

SPARK Grant
  • Amount a student can request: $1,500 and/or up to 3 credits of summer tuition
  • Nazareth University's Center for Life's Work offers $1,500 SPARK grants to help cover undergraduate student costs for: an unpaid or underpaid summer internship, unpaid or underpaid summer research, or an international experience (a Naz-approved study abroad or service trip abroad) any time of year. Students also may request summer housing at a reduced rate.

CFLW Internship Program Living Allowance Grant
  • Amount a student can request: $3,000
  • Helps cover living costs for students completing summer internships outside of their home city. This may include transportation, housing, and per-diem costs.

Youngblood Book Grant
  • Amount a student can request: $500 maximum during a student’s degree program
  • This limited emergency fund is available to assist full-time undergraduate students with demonstrated financial need, to pay for required textbooks and other required learning material as part of a course(s). Students who’ve already received a financial aid refund to purchase textbooks are not eligible.

Lena Gantt Grant
  • For HEOP & first-generation students to assist with needs not met by financial aid.
  • Amount a student can request: Varies based upon request. The request cannot exceed $250.

Honors Scholar Funding
  • The Honors Program offers Honors Students up to $250 per student for University-sponsored student engagement activities, as funds permit. Applications will be reviewed by the Honors Director as they are received and, where possible, funds will be sent directly to the department through which the activity is taking place.
  • Note: Applications must be submitted at least two weeks ahead of the activity nad must be from a student in the Honors program.
