Yes, all full-time undergraduate students are guaranteed housing for all years of enrollment.
Seniors, juniors, and sophomores may select each other as roommates. First-year students are placed with other first-year students.
The only buildings that are not available for returning students are those designated for incoming first-year students (Kearney, O'Connor 1, and Lourdes).
The housing application is available online through the housing portal. Other housing request forms can be completed online or downloaded, completed, and emailed to reslife@naz.edu.
No. We have some shared-interest community housing options, but there are no designated neighborhoods.
Yes. You can either be part of a group where someone with a higher selection number "pulls you in" as a roommate or, if an apartment is available at your selection time, you may choose it.
Students who will be seniors and juniors in the upcoming fall semester may apply to stay in their current room with their current roommate(s) for the following year without going through the housing selection process.
For apartments and suites, at least 50% of the residents must stay and these individuals are responsible for finding/selecting other individuals to reside in the vacant spaces.
Students in doubles must find a roommate to take advantage of the Fast Pass option and students living in singles can also apply to stay in their current room.
Students need to complete and submit the required packet to request this housing option.
Seniors and juniors can take advantage of the Fast Pass option and also receive the $500 per semester room grant. These room grants are available for non-apartment spaces only.
No. You must move out of your room fully over the summer and move back in at the start of the fall semester. This allows us to accommodate any summer housing needs we may have as well as clean and prepare your room for your return.
Students who will be seniors and juniors in Fall 2023 and choose to live on campus in a non-apartment space are eligible to receive an additional $500 per semester Returning Student room grant.
These grants are applied through a student's financial aid package.
If a student moves into an on-campus apartment or cancels their housing during the semester, their room grant may be removed or amended per the College’s liability/refund policy.
Exception: Seniors and juniors who receive HEOP funding, Young Scholar funding, dependent employee tuition benefits, or veteran education benefits are not eligible for the $500 per semester returning student room grant.
No. We can offer resources for you to find a roommate(s); however, ultimately, it is up to you to find other individuals to live with.
Recommended items to pack and yes, you can have a meal plan although it's not required.
If you cancel your housing prior to June 1, you will NOT be charged a cancellation fee. Any cancellations AFTER June 1 will be charged the $350 fee. If you plan to move off-campus, you need to notify Residential Life as soon as possible or you will be billed for housing on your term bill.
That is a question you need to direct to the Financial Aid Office. They make that determination.
All room changes must be approved through the Residential Life Office. Please read our Room Change Policy on our Policies and Procedures page.
You can fill out a Room Change Request form. However, we may or may not have been notified that Elizabeth's roommate is leaving. We have to receive official notification that a room is being vacated before we remove the student. You may want to have Elizabeth's roommate contact us so that we know for certain when the roommate is leaving. We will do our best to honor your preference, but we cannot make any guarantees. There may be others ahead of you for a room in the same area and we work through the list in order.
Residence halls are closed during Thanksgiving, winter and spring recess. All students must vacate their rooms at that time. The only exceptions are certain approved interns, student teachers, international students, and athletes for sports in season during the vacation. If you need to work on campus or in Rochester; do not want to travel home; have some business in the area; or need to catch up on your sleep during the official breaks, you need to find alternative housing off-campus. Your Residence Hall Room Contract is not in effect during the breaks.
