Shared-Interest Communities

Optional themed housing areas and activities make it easier to:

  • Make connections and new friendships with classmates who share common interests, goals, and tastes.
  • Get involved with activities on campus.
  • Take full advantage of all that college living offers.

How it works

These rooms and shared lounges are in designated sections or floors of residence halls on campus. A typical shared-interest community totals about 20 residents who enjoy activities together.

Creative & Performing Arts Plus - A community for music, performance and art lovers

Majors and non-majors come together in this community through the exploration and enjoyment of the arts. As both the artist and the audience, you can refine your existing talents or try something new like painting, dance, creative writing, photography, and more. No medium is off limits in this creative space!

This community is located in Founders, which makes it a hub for all things art related!

Global Commons — A community of travel and culture aficionados

In the Global Commons, we aim to create a community of international diversity. This community is over-arching in that it is housed in Medaille for sophomores through seniors, and French House for all students. These locations allow everyday interactions between American and international students who will live together, or live side by side and learn more about each other's cultures.
