Student Leaders

Residential Life Student Leaders help to create inclusive and healthy communities on campus. They are key members of the Residential Life staff and support our students as they navigate the University experience.

We have replaced the traditional Resident Assistant (RA) role. We have looked at the growing demands asked of our RAs and know that change was needed. We have also looked at other models nationally.

We are hiring for two different Residential Life Student Leader roles:

The expected workload should be equal and the compensation free room & Freedom Naz meal plan for returning student staff and free room and half paid Freedom Naz meal plan for new student staff. The roles use one application, which is in the housing portal.

Time Commitment & Expectations

  • 15 hours per week, on average
  • You may take off one weekend every month
  • Bi-weekly 1-on-1s with your supervisor
  • Weekly staff meetings
  • Pre-semester trainings, mid-semester workshops, and late stay for hall closings are required
  • ALL RA/CAs are expected to return to campus for fall training August 13 - 23, 2025
