Students seeking alternative text formats (audio/digital/braille) should contact the Student Accessibility Services. We will discuss options on a case-by-case basis.

Student Accessibility Services (GAC 61) has computers equipped with the following programs:

• JAWS

Training on these programs is offered through our office.

Additional assistive software programs may be available per accommodation.

The Adaptive Technology Room is located in the lower level of the Golisano building in room 62. The following technology is available:

• PC workstation with voice recognition and output (Dragon Naturally Speaking)
• Screen reading software (JAWS)
• Braille embosser (Juliet Pro)
• Printer and Scanner
• DaVinci Pro magnifier with OCR
• All of the assistive software programs above

Digital voice recorders are available to rent through the Information Technology desk in the lower level of the library.

Virtually all student needs can be met through the standard meal plan options. For on-campus food options that are specifically geared to your allergen or dietary need, please visit the dining services website. Using the "Health" drop down choose "Food Allergies" to explore food options we have to address your specific allergy.

After visiting the website, students with remaining questions/concerns or to schedule a tour of the dining facilities on campus to learn about specific food preparation or food ingredients can contact our Registered Dietitian, megan.dennis@sodexo.com

Students with food allergies and/or special nutrition needs that require additional accommodations beyond what is provided by dining services should complete the Food Allergy and Special Nutrition Form with your physician and return it to Student Accessibility Services. As part of the accommodation process, students are often required to meet with the Registered Dietitian in Dining Services to discuss their needs and learn options that are available to them. If the accommodation is not granted, students may appeal the decision to the Director of Campus Operations in writing.

Students seeking interpreting should contact Student Accessibility Services. Provide advanced notice of class schedules, events, and anticipated meetings. Please also inform us of any cancellations as soon as possible.

Notetaking is an involved cognitive process that can be very specific to the individual who creates the notes. SAS encourages independent notetaking by aiding the process with direct notetaking training, notetaking software, and/or access to instructor notes/slides. For students are more limited in their ability to take independent notes, SAS will determine reasonable accommodations.

Our distraction-reduced testing center is for SAS students who are approved for any of the following accommodations:

• Extended time for tests and exams
• Distraction-reduced testing environment
• Readers
• Scribes
• Access to computers with word processors
• Access to computers with assistive technology
• Enlarged print

To schedule an exam using Accommodate:

1. Student submits a Test Room Booking request at least 72 hours before the exam using the Accommodate portal
2. Instructor approves of the testing appointment
3. Confirmation email is generated for both student and instructor

Testing Center Policies and Procedures

Students with disabilities are encouraged to connect with our office and discuss reasonable accommodations. Returning students should contact the office at the start of each semester to receive updated accommodation letters.

Nazareth students can request tutoring for most classes to reinforce course content.

One-one academic success coaching is offered to all Nazareth students via the Student Success office.
