Performance Areas

Most musicians are drawn to pursue various degree areas of study through their interest and love of performing music. We recognize this, and each degree program offers numerous opportunities for students to grow in their performance ability:

  • Weekly, one-hour private lessons for students in all music degree programs
  • Semester performance requirements for every student in studio recitals and jury examinations
  • A variety of ensemble experiences, both small and large, enrich the performance studies
  • Auditions to present a concerto or aria performance with the Nazareth University Orchestra or sing a role in the Nazareth University Opera Workshop
  • Auditions for a yearly honors solo recital are open to every degree program
  • Auditions for a full hour senior recital for those programs requiring a half-hour recital
  • Off-campus opportunities at churches, nursing homes, and community organizations

    Community Connection

We are well connected with the Rochester community. Over 200 performances of faculty, guest artists, students, and ensembles are offered each academic year.

The culturally rich region allows students the opportunity to experience many performing groups, including the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and Mercury Opera.
