Nazareth field hockey team members Haley Potter ’14 and Sarah Wazenkewitz ’14 were selected as second-team all-stars in the Empire 8 Conference. In addition Cailin Huggins ’14 was Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportswoman of the Year.
Potter, of Moravia, N.Y. and a graduate of Moravia High School, started all 18 games for the Golden Flyers in 2013 and contributed one goal and two assists. She played regularly for the Golden Flyers for four seasons.
Wazenkewitz, of North Syracuse, N.Y. and a graduate of Cicero-North Syracuse High School, also started all 18 games in 2013 and amassed 14 points on five goals and four assists. She had 31 points for her four-year career on 12 goals and seven assists.
As Nazareth’s representative as E8 Sportswoman of the Year, Huggins, of Cooperstown, N.Y., has upheld the conference’s emphasis of “Competing with Honor and Integrity” in conjunction with each institution’s educational mission. These honorees have distinguished themselves and consistently exhibit the critical traits as outstanding sportswomen.
