Activities & Excursions

Students have the opportunity to participate in excursions arranged by Chengdu staff as well as independently coordinate trips with other students.

Costs
  • $500 credit transfer fee paid to Nazareth College
  • $6,000 tuition, accommodations and insurance fees paid directly to G-MEO

Scholarships awarded for 3.3+ GPAs

Courses & Credits

 All courses are taught in English.

During the summer, students enroll in one to two courses during the five-week program. Students who desire to enroll in three courses must receive approval from Nazareth. 

Courses are available in the following subjects:

  • Business
  • Economics
  • Social Sciences & Humanities
  • Language Studies
  • Science

Credits:

6 credits (3 internship & 3 credits in Chinese for Business through G-MEO)

Housing & Meals

Housing

Students reside in standard double occupancy rooms at the Chengdu American Center on the Sichuan University Huaxi Campus; single occupancy rooms are available upon request and at an extra cost.

Amenities:

  • Furnished room
  • Private bathroom
  • WiFi access

Students may also reside at nearby hotels.

Meals

Students use a campus card to access the campus cafeterias or may also eat at nearby shops/restaurants. 

Chengdu cuisine has three categories: Sichuan Cuisine, Hotpot, and Snack.

Internships

Students from a variety of majors are able to gain real-world experience in a global marketplace during an 11-week internship through Chengdu American Center!

    • Application and Advisor Approval Form
    • Site Agreement Form
  • Once deemed eligible by Kathy Hansen, Assistant Director of Overseas Studies & Exchanges in the Center for International Education (GAC 119), and Emily Marchese, complete a separate internship application form on the Study Abroad Program Management System (SAPMS). Please upload the following documents to the application:
    • Resume
    • One professional photo
    • One letter of recommendation for review by G-MEO and receiving organization
