Israel, Palestine, & Turkey

Walking in the Footsteps of the Prophets

A select group of students, professionals, historians, and religious leaders journeyed to lands held sacred by the three Abrahamic faiths - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Program Highlights:

  • Students wandered the storied streets of Jerusalem, visited Bethlehem, gazed across the sea of Galilee, beheld the majestic beauty of Hagia Sophia, wondered at the grace of Sufi practices, and delighted in the architectural grandeur along the shore of the Bosphorus Strait.
  • Students benefited from the wisdom of trip leaders from Nazareth College who are experts in Judaism, Islam, and Christianity as well as the experience and insights of scholars from educational institutions in the two regions.

"The visits to historic sites were interspersed with interactions with everyday people, chance meetings in shops or markets. It was great to see both the Israeli and Palestinian perspectives, which will help me develop curriculum and better teach the theme of oppression to my students."
