Nicaragua

Students, along with faculty and staff advisors, traveled to Nicaragua to work in partnership with Panorama Service Expeditions in a small community in the outskirts of Managua. One group of students, who focused on education and community youth development, spent their week in a local school, teaching English lessons and working on other physical labor projects on the school grounds. The other group of students, focused on physical therapy, occupational therapy, music therapy, and nursing, were of service in a rural medical clinic. This program also included days of cultural exploration to Masaya Volcano National Park, the cultural hub of Granada, and the history museums in Managua. Students also hiked along the ridge of Lake Apoyo, and took a boat ride on Lake Cocibolca, the largest lake in Central America.
