Her intern experience: "I was out in the field almost every week for our new projects. For my final feature piece, I was able to interview and write a story on a family that has owned their osteria (a small inn) since 1465. For the same story, I interviewed a woman whose family had owned this knife shop since 1785 and all of the owners have been women. That was unheard of at one point, which made her story all the more incredible. I was able to interact with these people — who did not speak fluent English — and they had such amazing and inspiring stories to tell.

Involvement at Naz: Golden Gazette treasurer, Admissions student ambassador

What stands out about your college experience? "I love my professors, and I wouldn't have gotten this internship without my professor Leah Stacy. This internship was one of the best things I have ever been a part of. I gained invaluable experiences in the field of communications, while also meeting and interacting with students from around the United States and around the world. I had the opportunity to work with all different types of people with many different ways to do something. It was inspiring and cultivated the most creative environment I have ever been in."

Her intern experience: "We were able to travel throughout Italy, so it was amazing being able to not only gain more professional experience in my field but also to learn more about the culture and history of the country. How many students can say they got to visit the Colosseum and Vatican during their internship!"

How did the internship help you? "This experience has shown me that I am capable of so much more than I knew. This internship gave me a lot of hands-on, real world experience. It gave me a greater understanding of the world around me and introduced me to wonderful professionals within my field of study. I am proudly able to add more skills and practical experience to my resume."

Involvement at Naz: "I am the editor-in-chief of the Nazareth Golden Gazette online magazine and an Admissions student ambassador. I love meeting prospective students and being an influence on their visit to Nazareth."

Her Italy experience: "My most memorable experience was going to the film festival in Piazza Maggiore, in the heart of Bologna, and seeing Martin Scorsese speak about his movie. It was a mind-blowing experience. I also wrote a feature article on ancient ruins discovered beneath a local Italian library, and learned media skills while filming a video in a gelato shop (yum!)."

Involvement at Naz: vice president of The Golden Gazette, National Honor Society for Leadership and Success, Golden Creative Marketing Agency, Night Light Yoga.

What stands out about your college experience? "Coming to Nazareth as a transfer student from the heart of North Carolina, I was shy and unsure of my abilities. The inspiring professors and extraordinary peers I've had the privilege of engaging with and learning from here at Nazareth have bolstered my confidence, opened me up to new opportunities and created memories during my college experience that will last a lifetime."
