Casa Italiana offers a variety of different programming for children including La Scuola Italiana (Italian School language classes offered once a week) and an Italian Language and Arts Day Camp during the summer.
La Scuola Italiana (Italian School)
La Scuola offers age-appropriate activities and curriculum. The classes are for beginners to advanced beginners and use authentic Italian school textbooks. This engaging program focuses on Italian language, traditional children's music, and games. La Scuola will also include hands-on learning activities, watching video clips, role playing, and projects. Students are required to bring a 2" binder and purchase a textbook for an additional fee; all other class supplies are provided.

Classes will begin on Saturday, January 14, 2017
Level I: Ages 5 to 7, 9:30 am-10:30 am
Level II: Ages 8 to 10, 10:30 am-11:30 am
New! Level III: Ages 11 to 14, 11:30 am-12:30 pm
In the new Level III course, the Italian language is taught primarily through reading and writing. The cultural information is relayed through dialogues, role playing and classroom conversation. Selected grammatical topics and vocabulary will focus on speaking, and short writings and dictation will focus on writing skills.

$155 for non-members

Italian Language and Cultural Camp
July 2017 Camp Dates to be announced
Week One for ages 5-7
Week Two for ages 8-10
During week-long sessions, children learn about the cultural heritage of Italy and study the Italian language. When they aren't practicing their language skills, children partake in Italian activities, such as Italian cooking, games, history, traditions, Ferrari and Vespa demonstrations, and visits by musicians and soccer players.
Times and locations: Program hours for both weeks are from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The camps will be held in the Casa Italiana LeChase Lounge (lower level).
