I began teaching at Nazareth University in 2023. With extensive experience in founding and leading successful Silicon Valley startups and spearheading strategic initiatives for multinational tech firms in Asia, my research and scholarly work focus on responsible AI and its application in business and society. Students appreciate my real-world insights and practical approach to AI and business strategy.
My academic passion lies in advancing responsible AI and exploring its transformative impact on global business and society, with a particular focus on improving the quality of our interactions.
My favorite course to teach is Predictive AI Analytics for our Human Resources graduate program. This course addresses real-world issues that HR managers and directors face in their organizations, equipping students with the skills to leverage AI technology for strategic decision-making and problem-solving in HR contexts.
I also teach project management and AI business strategy.
I incorporate case studies from my experience in Silicon Valley and Asia, using real-world scenarios to illustrate the practical applications of AI in business. For example, we analyze successful AI integration strategies from tech giants and startups alike, fostering interactive discussions and critical thinking.
Nazareth University offers a unique environment where interdisciplinary collaboration and a commitment to ethical AI development thrive. I particularly value the students' enthusiasm for leveraging technology for societal good and their drive to become leaders in responsible innovation.
I focus on helping students see themselves as changemakers by involving them in projects that address real-world business problems through AI solutions. My course projects often tackle issues such as algorithmic bias and irresponsible implementation of AI, ensuring students learn to avoid these pitfalls.
Stay current with AI advancements and continuously develop your technical and strategic skills. Engaging in internships, participating in AI competitions, and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects will provide practical experience and a competitive edge in the field.
I create opportunities for students to work on industry projects and certifications that align with their career goals, ensuring they gain hands-on experience and professional connections. Additionally, I mentor students on navigating career paths in AI and business, emphasizing ethical considerations and social impact.
“Jeff has been a great resource for students because he is an incredibly well-traveled individual who has done it all and seen it all in the AI landscape, here in the United States but also across the globe. His ability to use his experience to provide insights to students has helped me gain a more complete understanding of the world of AI and what career opportunities are out there!” — student Matthew Sayles
