Commuter Assistant Program

Nazareth's Commuter Assistant Program helps first-year commuter students transition to college life and get involved on campus. Upperclassmen commuters, referred to as Commuter Assistants (CAs), are assigned a small group of first-year commuter students and act as a mentor, resource, and support as these students navigate the unique challenges and opportunities that come with commuting to campus.

CAs are responsible for:

  • serving as a role model for their group
  • advocating for the interests, needs, and rights of commuter students
  • helping commuter students make connections to campus resources, academic resources, and student organizations on campus
  • creating programs for their group to help them transition to College and integrate them into campus life
  • Maintaining weekly contact with their assigned group of students
  • Working with Student Activities to plan, promote, and implement initiatives specifically focused on first-year commuters
