Spain
Earn 4-6 credits of Spanish, over 4-6 weeks in the Mediterranean city of Valencia. While taking classes, students will explore the city, coast, and mountains and be immersed in the culture.

Program Dates
This program runs during Summer A. Classes begin the third week of May and run 4-6 weeks depending on the length of your program you choose.
Course Information
Students will take classes (20 hours per week) in small groups based on their proficiency level. Españole Language School is accredited by the Cervantes Institute and has been a long-standing partner with Nazareth.
Accommodations
Students stay with host families in pairs (two students per family, each with their own room). Breakfast and dinner will be provided by their host family every day. Students will be responsible for lunches on their own. All host families are located within a 30 minute radius by public transportation to the school.
Activities & Excursions
The following are possible activities and excursions that are included in the program fees:
2 Full Day Excursions:
- Sagunto with visit to the Roman Theater and Castle
- Calpe and Altea, beach and villages, or
- Peñiscola with visit to the castle
Activities:
- Quiz tour in the old town
- Modernist Valencia tour
- Visit to the Cathedral and climb to the Miguelete tower
- Walk in the City of Arts and Sciences and visit the Fallas Museum
- Beach Volleyball
- Dancing lesson: Latin dance
- Barbecue on the school terrace
- Walk around the "City of Arts and Sciences" and visit to the Museum of Sciences
- Cooking workshop: Paella in the school terrace
- Bike tour around the Turia riverbed gardens up to the City of Arts and Sciences
- Sunset boat tour in the Albufera lake (public transport)
- Visit to "Mestalla": the Valencia football club Stadium
- Tapas evening
- Climb the Serranos Towers and visit the Fine Arts Museum
Program Costs
The program cost in 2025 is $2400. This is subject to change in future years.
Program fees include:
- Program activities, excursions, and entrance fees
- All accommodations
- Most meals (breakfast and dinner)
- Round-trip transfers to/from airport
- Class materials
- 4 credits of tuition
Does NOT include:
- Round-trip airfare
- Lunches
- Public transportation
- Trip insurance
- Miscellaneous expenses (souvenirs, personal travel, etc.)
Application & Payments
All students must submit an online application and meet with Laura Barnard.
Mid March: Online applications due
April 1: Initial deposit due
April 15: 2nd payment due (non-refundable beyond this point)
May 1: 3rd payment due
SPARK Grant:
Qualifying freshman, sophomore, & transfer students can use their SPARK Grant for this short-term study abroad program.
