Nazareth University currently sponsors five summer programs to Italy:
Florence: This four-week program in in partnership with the Santa Reparata International School of Art (SRISA) offers Fine Arts, Liberal Arts, Design, and Italian Language courses in both Summer A and Summer B for a total of 3-6 credit hours. Please contact Josh Fess before submitting an application to determine available spots in the SRISA Summer Program.
Florence, Siena, & Arezzo: This two week program is offered to all dance majors and minors. Dance your way through the countryside of Tuscany. Study with Italian teachers, and enjoy the beauty of this most picturesque region of Italy. Future program dates have yet to be announced.
Pescara: This three-and-a-half week program based in Pescara will depart during Summer A. While Pescara will service as a "home base," this program includes multi-day trips to destinations around the country such as Rome, Abruzzo, and Florence or Venice. This program is associated with an upper-division ITL course taught in English that is open to all majors and minors.
Pescara: Physical Therapy: This one week program will depart for the first time during Spring Break 2025 and is open to physical therapy upperclassmen and graduate students.
Rome & Assisi: This two week program will depart in June 2025, and will explore Rome's captivating history and religious foundations in great detail. This program is offered in partnership with the Australian Catholic University - Rome campus, which will serve as the base of operations and will provide a number of opportunities for our group to meet students on campus, and learn from faculty and scholars from around the globe.
You do not need to speak Italian to participate in these programs.
Qualifying freshman, sophomore, and transfer students can use their SPARK Grant for this short-term study abroad program.
