China

Travel to China this summer and spend 2 weeks immersing yourself in one of the world’s largest and most dynamic cities. Encompassing a metropolitan area of nearly 30 million people, Shanghai serves as China’s financial capital and is an international port city and a cultural crossroads for all of East Asia. Here you will see East and West collide, with one of the world’s most futuristic skylines set across the Huangpu River from the grandeur of late 19th and early 20th century stone buildings that date back to the time of the European Concessions. Shanghai is a food and fashion lovers paradise, with huge department stores, world-class art and history museums, pedestrian-only streets, exciting nightlife, and green parks and river walks to escape from the crowds. Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance, Nazareth’s partner university, plays host for this comprehensive non-credit program. Students will participate in a variety of activities and lectures throughout the city, learning about cross-border e-commerce, international economics and trade, Chinese business practice and business culture, basic Chinese language, calligraphy, martial arts, and traditional music. No prior experience of Chinese language or business is required to participate. Students will visit international businesses, meet Chinese entrepreneurs, do language and culture exchanges with Chinese students, and travel to a nearby historic water town.
