Intercultural Creative Arts Therapy

This is a one-week intensive course that covers intercultural and ethical issues in creative arts therapy at the NIARTE Institute in Brevens Bruk, Sweden. Participants have an opportunity to learn about Sweden’s history and cultural arts, as well as practical application of the creative arts. The course is presented through lectures, tours, and experiential workshops.

Program Highlights:

  • Participate in guided tours at nationally recognized museums and historical settings.
  • Participate in cultural events at Niarte Institute and in the local community, such as local cuisine, traditional music and dance, and national festivals.
  • Attend various lectures on the use of art therapy for various populations.
  • Observe and participate in designed expressive arts experiences and workshops.
  • Attend walking tours, special art and music community events, and experience specific cultural activities on the national celebration of Summer Solstice and Swedish way of life.
