Anna Maxwell

BIOGRAPHY

Anna Maxwell is thrilled to join Nazareth College as Professor of Harp, teaching applied harp lessons and studio instruction. An avid performer across upstate NY, Anna has performed with ensembles including the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble, Concentus Women's Chorus, Erie Philharmonic, and Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes. Anna is excited to introduce her newest chamber music collaboration, Luminaria- a violin/harp duo creating whimsical watercolor multimedia interpretations of both fresh and familiar repertoire.

Anna completed her studies at the Eastman School of Music, earning a B.M. and M.M. in Harp Performance as well as a Performer’s Certificate under the instruction of Kathleen Bride. She also completed a B.A. in Digital Media Studies. During her studies, Anna received special honors including selection to perform with the Eastman Wind Ensemble for their tour and recording of Images: Music of Jeff Tyzik. She was also selected as the winner of the Eastman Harp Concerto Competition in 2019, and she has received the Robert Wayne Barlow Award for Excellence in Harp Performance. Additionally, Anna has been selected as a semi-finalist in the American Harp Society Foundation’s Anne Adams Awards.

Anna enjoys exploring all upstate NY has to offer and contributing to the Rochester area's vibrant community.
